Howdy FJB!

I am happy to be home and getting to see my son. Let me know what games I need to get. My DSL is up and running.

Good to hear it Neo. And good timing considering what's going on elsewhere. Pod and I have been playing Battlefield1942 lately more than anything. Otherwise I think most of us are just waiting for PlanetSide and SWG.

Yes I thought about staying in the fray but I have spent too much time away from my son. I'll go snag BF1942 today.

It's a badass game, you'll like it.....as long as you don't have an Audigy.

I got BF1942 and the Rome expansion. It looks good and plays fine on my laptop. I tried to get on bc but had no luck. I used both the IP and the address listed on the homepage.

Thanks Pod. My bc test connects fine but I haven't had any luck with the FJB server. Any ideas?

You're playing on a laptop? The only thing I would guess on the BC connection thing is that you have some kind of router/firewall issue.

yep. I just discovered my DSL modem is also a router. doah. The dumbasses at Bellsouth have no training on the router functions. I have never messed with one so it is a challenge. Hope to bc ya soon!

Thanks Kyle,

once I knew I had a router issue, I just figured out how to make changes to it and messed around with it. It even had a pre-loaded setting for bc (that didn't work). It had the info you posted so I just input those ports manually and walla! I spend 2 days messing with bc and xp settings befor I knew my DSL modem was a router lol

Hey, I wasn't sure if you got all of your problems solved or not so here's some other BC port info:

Port: 47624
Direction: Outbound (Client), Inbound (Peer Server)
Purpose: Initial Connection
Type: TCP

Port: 2300 - 2400
Direction: Inbound/Outbound
Purpose: Session Communications
Type: TCP

Port: 2300 - 2400
Direction: Inbound/Outbound
Purpose: Session Communications
Type: UDP

If you're having an issue with full/half-duplex that is most-likely a soundcard issue.
