With JTL coming out I want to get a nice Joystick and Throttle. Well, I guess I really don't need a throttle if the Joystick is badass. And on a Third thought, the throttle might be a pain in the ass to switch back and forth with if I'm playing something like.... PlanetSide. Anything under $150 preferred.
So if anyone knows about Joysticks, its the gods of Jumpgate and Allegiance, right? Suggestions? |

Go buy a $60-80 M$ Stick with a twist grip and a built-in throttle. It won't be a Razzle-tastic HOTAS system, but he couldn't tell you what HOTAS means anyway. On top of that, you'll get a reliable stick that works with XP and any game and it won't cost too much. I find that a twist-action rudder and wheel/slider throttle is much better for space sims, anyway. That is, assuming JTL is going to vaguely resemble a space sim.

I saw the HOTAS system and it looked well constructed. $280 is a bit much for my taste though. On a 4th thought I would really like a good built-in throttle. Not really for JTL, but for Flight Sims.
Is this what you are talking about? Solid construction is a must. Don't want a cheap POS that accidently fires Morning Stars. |

Not sure if I would want the HOTAS anyway. The lead might sink into my hand forcing me to hallucinate and talk about putting penises into things im wearing on my head at the time.

Saitek Throttle fix:
ControlMap.addAxisToAxisMapping c_PIThrottle IDFGameController_0 IDAxis_4 0 1 Add this line after the key commands for throttle (like line 3) in the air.con file. |
